Most Expensive Coffee Machines

Stephen Graver is diving into the world of kitchen gadgets again and this time its coffee machines for those of us who want a café style and quality brew. There are simply hundreds on the market and again the task of finding the most expensive begins.

The first machine on the agenda is the De’Longhi Magnifica ESAM4200S which looks extremely professional, like a mini version of the machines seen in bars and restaurants. With many variable settings for coffee grinding and water flow, it’s very precise. Regarding the looks, finished in silver and stainless steel it will look good in a contempory kitchen. This has to be one of the best kitchen gadgets out there and prices ranging from £300 to £400, depending on the supplier – it’s a great bit of kit.

The second machine on the list is a restaurant grade machine for the home. Roughly the same size as the De’Longhi, but with the advantage of a cup stacking area on the top – so you really can pretend to be a professional barman/woman. Stainless steel construction and industry grade insides, it’s as precise as the Swiss watch on your wrist. For all this, you are looking to fork out the best part of £450 from a supplier, but this price may vary.
You could even go to Lamborghini for a coffee maker. They made 1000 of these machines and this is a good example of having more money then sense. Retailed at $1750 when it was launched, featuring a leather gear knob and Lambo badges, it’s for the car enthusiast who wants a real kick from a bad bull in the morning. So strap yourself in, grab that leather shifter and push the start button. It’s going to be an expensive and addictive ride!!
But for a newer machine that’s ready to order and delivery the next day is the Jura Impressa Z7.  It does pose the same question as the Lambo though – more money then sense? Well, on the looks front it’s pretty spectacular and being fully automatic, very easy to use and being Swiss, again, will stand the test of time. This machine would look great anywhere and if you want the latest in coffee making innovation, then this flag ship has to be the one. At a whopping £1800 from Garraways.co.uk, it already costs more than my car and motorbike put together but lest we forget, you’re rich, you want toys, you may even be a little bit mad, but you know you must have it!!
